Application

How to apply for grants

The project application must consist of three parts:

  • Form for Applications for research grants in pdf and word. (Please download the file, before you can fill it out. If you have problems downloading the form, please contact us and we will send you the form by regular mail). If the project runs over more than a year, you need to specify your needs for each year.
  • An appendix that is at most seven A4-pages with double spacing including:
    a) aim of the project, its general structure, theoretical framework and method as well as its relationship to the rest of the research within this field,
    b) the researcher’s skills and qualifications for the project and current position,
    c) the need for resources, motivation for costs and possibilities for co-funding. Describe and motivate funding for travel, material and other equipment.
  • An appendix with the CV of the project leader, including a list of publications.

Send the whole application electronically as one (1) pdf-file to IFAU, ifau@ifau.uu.se, by October 1, at the latest. The electronic application must be completed with a signed printout to be sent to IFAU by regular mail by October 1 at the very latest. We will not consider the application if the signed original is missing (NB! Signatures from both the head of department and the applicant are required).

If you cannot submit the application electronically by e-mail, you submit a hard copy of the application by regular mail instead of using e-mail. In that case, send all documents in 16 sorted copies, one of which should be the signed original. These must have reached us by October 1 at the very latest. Each copy should then contain the application form and the appendices, ready to be sent on to the experts.
