The aim is to explore how and to what extent parental psychiatric disorders in families where either both parents or one parent are affected by mental disorders impact their children’s educational and labour market-related outcomes. The project also aims at studying whether and how the specific parental environments (e.g., parental education, income, socioeconomic index, social welfare, divorce, criminality, or death), measured at different periods of offspring life, can alter such impact.

All individuals born in Sweden between 1973 and 1997 are included in the project and followed through 2013.
