In this project, we study how participation in a language support internship provided by Stockholm's Job centres affects employment, receipt of social assistance and grades from language training. We compare participants with a group that has similar characteristics but did not participate in the intervention, using dynamic IPW. We use several registers from Statistics Sweden, the National Board of Health and Welfare and the City of Stockholm.

Since 2009, Stockholm has run an initiative called language support internship. It involves immigrants with limited Swedish language skills receiving a comprehensive introduction to Swedish working life and its social codes in their native language, after which they are matched to a workplace where they do an internship. The aim of the activity is to practice Swedish and gain work-life experience.
